Sapphire sat still, shocked and horrified.
Her powers were gone. She wouldn't be worshipped any more. She was... mortal.
She had no idea what to do. This had never happened to ANYONE before! She still couldn't understand exactly what she did wrong; she squished a couple of humans, so what? She had no idea Ruby woyld ever go this far! For the first time in her life, she was terrified.

"Sitting down won't solve anything," she said to herself, and slowly got to her feet. She was in shock, but could also feel a burning hate for the boy who got away. This was all his fault, and she would not be told otherwise. She let out a massive roar, her face red with anger. She jumped down the waterfall and fell into the water, where the boy had fell. She tried to breath, but could only feel water rushing down her wind pipe. She started to panic, desperately swimming upwards to get rid of this horrible sensation. Her head burst through the surface, gasping for air. She had no idea what happened; why couldn't she breath underwater? "Must be one of those stupid mortal weaknesses," she said to herself as she hauled herself onto land, "I must be careful about what I do. Who knew mortals we're so WEAK?" she stood up, soaking wet, and walked into the dense forest.

She travelled for a long time, not meeting anyone, until it started to rain. It rained hard, and it was very cold, but Sapphire didn't care, and she didn't know the consequences.

By morning, Sapphire was curled up in a ball, trying to keep warm. She had had no sleep at all and was really tired. Life as a mortal was hard, and she had barely started. It was a good thing she ate all those humans last night.
"DAMN YOU, RUBY!!" Sapphire screamed, "I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS!!" ad Sapphire started to cry.

"Hello? Are you alright?"
Sapphire un-curled herself and looked towards where the voice had came from. There stood a young girl, around 15 years old, partly hiding behind a large tree. She had blonde hair that was held back in a pony tail and emerald eyes. She smiled a little.
"What do you want, human?" Sapphire tried to show that she had not been crying.
"I came to see if you're OK," she replied, "It was a very cold night last night."
"I'm fine," Sapphire snapped, "now leave me alone."
"OK then, but I guess you won't be getting any food!"
"Food?" Sapphire's stomach growled. 'So this is what it's like to be hungry,' Sapphire thought.
"Well? Are you in?" the girl asked.
Sapphire growled, "Just the food, then I leave."
"OK, then!" the girl giggled, "My name's Gurinda, by the way."
"Sapphire," Sapphire replied.

Gurinda led her to a large camp, filled with elves, humans and orcs. The camp filled a large opening in the forest, and everyone seemed to be busy. Some were sharpening weapons, some were cooking food, while others were carrying lumber and captured creatures. Sapphire noticed that people and items shook as she took each step. It made her giggle.
"What's so funny?" Gurinda asked, suddenly on Sapphire's shoulder.
"Hey!" she protested, and tried to shake her off. But Gurinda grabbed hold of Sapphire's messy hair and swung onto her nose. "C'mon, you can tell me. What's so funny?"
Sapphire didn't reply, instead looking down at the small cracks in the floor that she made with each step.
"Ooh," Gurinda nodded, and looked straight into Sapphire's eyes, "If you're thinking off trying to step on any of us with them big feet of yours, that's a bad idea. You see, we're trained hunters, so we'll kill you before you even touch us," she sniggered as Sapphire growled at her, "By the way, what's your mark?"
"My what?" Sapphire asked.
"Y'know, the marks on the back of your neck that show how many people you've eaten, or... killed."
Sapphire gulped.
"You wanna see mine?" she turned and showed Sapphire the back of her neck. There were three small brown shapes; one looked like a cat, the other looked like a spider and the last one looked like an elf's ears surrounded by a circle, all lined up, "This means that I have hunted down and killed three sentient creatures," Gurinda explained, "A neko, an arachnoid, and a giant elf."
"You killed a giant elf all on your OWN?" Sapphire asked, surprised.
"No, silly! I had help, but I did the killing blow. But these symbols are only there if I've killed them for a justifiable reason, like food," she continued, "But if you kill purely for the pleasure of killing, you get a massive skull and crossbones across the back of your neck."
Sapphire started to get nervous, "H-how do you get these marks?" she asked.
"Well they just appear once you've done it. Do you mind if I see yours?"
"I dunno..." Sapphire said.
"Well too bad," Gurinda jumped to Sapphire's nape. She braced herself, preparing to fight. But it never came.
"Weird," Gurinda sad to herself, "There's nothing here. Are you a vegetarian or something?"
"Uh... yeah," Sapphire replied.
"She's OK, everyone!" Gurinda yelled out, and everyone moaned with disappointment.
"What was that?" Sapphire asked.
"Well, were looking for a dangerous giant that attacked the town of Greenhill and Jakota so we can put an end to its killing spree. You wanna help us find it?"
"No, I think I'll go off on my own," Sapphire had to stop herself laughing. No one had any idea it was her! It was hilarious.
"Ok then, be seeing ya," Gurinda slid down Sapphires body and walked off.
"Bye." Sapphire replied, smiling to herself.

I hope to hear that story of Gurinda hunting down and killing (preferably squashing) that neko girl. That sounds sexy as fuck. :horny:
